Our business
GMD Business Consulting specialises in working with clients in a very hands on manner to guide them through the murky maze of insolvency, administration, law of property act, repossession orders, IVA, bankruptcy and all tax matters.
We may be a relatively small team but do not be deceived we are a truly mighty force in our areas of expertise, with Glenn leading the way. Our results speak for themselves in volumes.
Many clients say, “we wished we had found or come to you six months earlier”. Glenn often receives urgent requests from potential clients late at night when deadlines are very short to avert impending disaster. Glenn is available 24/7 and is able to assist immediately by taking the initial pressure off and helping to alleviating the mental stress that such worries cause. He deals with both straight forward and complex situations where other factors are to conclude successful outcomes. Glenn has an exceptionally high success rate of the cases he takes on.
Whilst there is no typical GMD client, for example our GMD client base ranges from large property trading businesses down to individual high value personal guarantees.

Glenn McDowall
Glenn is the leading light in a no nonsense approach to all matters. He is a family man with family values and strives to assist and guide all those in need of expert help whilst navigating the field of the business world no matter what the solution is. Glenn has a passionate hatred of bullying and sadly in the business world Banks and financial institutions routinely bully harass and intimidate clients especially so when things go wrong.
Glenn was born in Western Australia with his earliest memory at age 4 of living in a shed. The floor was soil, with a corrugated roof and a curtain separating the living from the sleeping area and with only the most basic of amenities available.
This has led Glenn to have a passion throughout his life to work hard and protect those that need his help and he is often referred to as the big brother or friend.
Throughout Glenn’s corporate life he has been challenged many times working in different countries and in fact spent 20 years successfully doing business throughout South East Asia and a successful stint as an Officer in the Hong Kong territorial army.
Glenn worked for Jardine Matheson for over 20 years. During this time he worked in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taiwan developing and expanding their business successfully into new markets, growing the brand awareness and through expansion, increasing the number of supermarkets and drug stores in all these regions. He did this while having to overcome language and cultural differences during negotiating joint ventures and supermarket expansion throughout Asia.
Glenn was told on arrival in Japan, by a reporter that he had NO chance of success in Taiwan at all, and then three years later went on to be interviewed on national TV, in Mandarin, to explain how he had built the largest supermarket chain in the country.
Glenn then moved to the UK and has been settled and married to Ann for over 20 years. Glenn and Ann recently moved from Cheshire to Shropshire, with children situated globally.
Glenn’s passion is help people in trouble, where he can personally make a difference!
Ann Cooper
Ann has been married to Glenn for over 20 years and works with Glenn in the business carrying out administration tasks mainly and consulting on client issues with Glenn to develop sound and constructive business strategies. Confidentiality is paramont and key to our business when dealing with such sensitive and often distressing situations; Ann is an expert at listening to all problems and analysing circumstances that lead to solutions.
Ann worked in the corporate sector for many years as a top Personal Assistant, Administration Manager and Event Executive for various companies over the years which included H. M. Rothchilds, Hilti and House of Fraser to name a few. She now devotes her time to working alongside Glenn and looking after their family.
